All the folders and files are displayed under this module. The recently-viewed files are displayed first, which user can choose not to be displayed, then the folders are displayed.

Double-clicking on a folder will allow the user to navigate inside the folder to view the sub-folders and files inside that folder whereas single-clicking on a folder will allow the user to select it and perform a host of operations on that folder (like Download, Move etc.). Similarly, double-clicking on a file will open the file on the app Viewer and single-clicking on the file will allow selection of that file for performing various file operations (like Download, Move etc.). User can select multiple files, multiple folders and even multiple folders & files together. For example, if user wants to select multiple folders (Say folders A & B), the user will first click on Folder A, then will hold ‘Ctrl’ on computer keyboard and then click on Folder B, hence both folders are now selected.

Now, when user single-clicked on a folder, it will be marked red meaning that this folder has been selected. In this way, user can select multiple folders (similar case for files) and perform various operations on those selected folders. Also, user can select any other folders after selecting one folder by using the Ctrl + Mouse left click (like they select folders in normal Windows drive).

As soon as user selects a folder, various folder operations button appears at the top [highlighted with red rectangle in the screenshot above].

Following operations can be performed on the folder:

  • Click on [Download] button to download the selected folders (along with the sub-folders and files inside it) on the user’s local computer
  • Click on [Send link] button to send a download link of the selected folders to other users via email generated from the app (default no. of days after which the link will expire is 10 days)

  • Enter the email ID of the user to whom you want to share the folder (with its contents), enter the message and click [Share] button to share the folder to the intended recipient.
  • Click the ’10 days’ link to change the no. of days after which the link will expire
  • Click the ‘Copy link’ button to copy a downloadable link of the selected folder and pate it on a browse to get a downloadable zip file (consisting of the folder and its contents)

  • Click on [More options] button to open the menu where other folder operation buttons like move, rename, get info & delete are present (for folders) and move, copy, rename, get info, delete & modify attributes are present (for files)

The count   at the top defines the no. of files and/or folders selected.

 

Folder & file operation descriptions:

  • Click the [Move] button to move the selected folder(s) and/or file(s) inside other folders of Legacy module or inside any folder of the normal Folders & File module. One or more folders and files can be moved together.

Note: Please go to 'Move files' help article to know how to move files and folders. 

  • Click the [Copy Files] button (exclusively for files) to make a copy of the selected file(s) inside any folder of the Folders & files module (user can copy the file inside the folder where the file which is being copied is present)

  • Click the [Rename] button to change the name of the selected folder or file

  • Click the [Permission] button (for folders only) to give access permission of specific folders to various users

Note: Refer to ‘Folder permission’ help article for details on folder permission.

  • Click the [Delete] button to permanently delete the selected folder(s) along with its contents or/and the selected file(s) from the app. A warning message for delete confirmation will be shown to the user before permanent deletion. One or more folders and files can be deleted together.
  • Click the [Modify attributes] button to enter/change the title, description & search tags of file(s) (this button only appears for files)

On the File information screen, under the Properties tab, user can view/enter/update the file title, description & search tags (and custom attributes – if any) and under the File history/versions tab user can view the separate file revisions.

After making the changes or entering any info, user can click [Update] to save the updated information.

 

Note: User can select multiple files and then can modify title, description & search tags of the two files together. All the selected files will fall under the same title, will have same description & will have similar search tags.

  • Click the [Get info] button to view info of the selected folder(s) or file(s)

The details of folder info will open as a side-drawer from the right-side of the screen. This drawer will display the folder icon with name, the location of folder (whether in normal folders & file module or whether in Folders & files module – access path), owner (who created the folder) and the date on which the folder is created.

In case of folders, this drawer will also display the number of sub folders and total number of files present inside it.

The details of file info will open as a side-drawer from the right-side of the screen. This drawer will display the file icon with name & version no. (linked to open the File history/revisions), the location of file (whether in normal folders & file module or whether in Folders & files module – access path), uploaded by, the date on which the file is uploaded & the file size.

In case of files, this drawer will also display the title, the description and the search tags. 

  • Click the 'Show other properties' link to edit the title, description & search tags of the file
